We continually ask for your support and you continually show up for us. Our Summer Bash has been one of the ways that we are able to give back to you – with a big free, fun-filled day of music and dancing. We really wanted to have an in-person summer event at the Pourhouse like we do every August, but we realized that it’s just not safe right now. We considered hosting the event virtually and streaming it live, but honestly, we were not sure that we could do that well and offer a quality virtual event. So, we have decided to take this event online this year. We truly appreciate your support and cannot wait to do this together, in-person next year.
This year’s online event will feature a small silent auction and treats from the Pourhouse, Phofilling, Marie Delaney when you make a donation. Click the tabs above for more info.
We set a goal this year to raise $8,500
2020 has been an unprecedented year…
We started 2020 with our strongest fundraising year yet. Then, March came. We saw the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the stay at home order, the shut down and all kinds of uncertainty about our health, our finances, our ability to be a community. AND then, we saw our country devastated by violence and civil unrest.
To say it has been a hard year, would be a wild understatement for what we have experience in the last five months. We have all been impacted in one way or another. Many of us have felt a financial impact, uncertainty of about the future of our jobs, fear over our health, isolation as our day to day lives have been changed like never before, and sadness. But, we’ve mastered how to “pivot”, learned more about digital and virtual apps then we thought possible, found joy in slowing down and in enjoying beautiful weather, and we have remained hopeful that our society will grow in a positive way, together, from this experience.
Olympic Neighbors has been able to keep Hamilton House open and continue to provide 24-hour support and affordable housing to our residents. It wasn’t always easy, we owe an incredible amount to our amazing staff, but our residents have navigated the changes well. They have remained healthy, engaged and in good spirits.
We wish all of you good health and spirits and hope you are able to meet your basic needs. If you find that you are in a position to give, please consider helping us reach our goal to raise $8,500 at this year’s 5th Annual (Virtual) Summer Bash.
Your donation helps cover the cost of providing affordable housing and 24-hour care to adults with developmental disabilities so they can live, work and play in their local community. Your support also helps us to continue to employ and pay our exceptional staff members.
Thank You From the Olympic Neighbors Team
